About me
Melanie Barton is a survivor of Child Sexual Abuse/Sexual Assault but above all else is a survivor more than her story. Melanie is a woman with a strong faith, a compassionate voice and a deep passion to bring light into the darkness through her experiences. She has spent over 10 years working with victims of crime in a professional capacity as a DV Crisis Center Advocate, Family Advocate at a Child Advocacy Center and as a trained Forensic Interviewer of children and has participated in countless conferences and trainings to enhance her ability to serve victims of crime, along with traveling across the Country sharing her story to many audiences. Melanie is honored to be a facilitator with I Have the Right To and is grateful for the other organizations she is currently working with. She’s A Wife, A Mom, An Athlete, A Coffee Lover, An Ocean enthusiast, A Volunteer and so much more. She is humbled to be here and to share her journey and what she's learned on it with all of you.
