About me
Chris’ 15 year old daughter was sexually assaulted by a police officer after grooming her and the entire family. After the family decided to press charges, the officer eventually received a plea deal to a misdemeanor charge of corruption of a minor of a sexual nature which carried 3-5 years of probation. The predator received no jail time and no registration on the national database of sexual offenders. A person stealing a car will receive a harsher penalty. With 3 months of the deal, he violated his probation after being seen on a school campus.
After learning that this was a common plea deal for officers in the State of Pennsylvania, Chris has worked to have HB1847 introduced to the PA House of Representatives to close the loophole that allowed this plea deal to be given. Through his lobbying efforts, the bill has received bipartisan support and is sitting in the Judiciary Committee awaiting a vote.
Chris is a frequent guest on podcasts and speaks to groups on grooming behaviors and how to support survivors. His family’s story was profiled in a recent article in The Washington Post. He lives in PA with his wife and is a Sr Manager of Talent Development at a scientific instruments company where he leads a team developing future leaders and executives. Chris McGhee, the father of three daughters, is keenly aware of the challenges of raising kids. In 2021, Chris’ youngest daughter was sexually assaulted by a York City Police Officer. Through the manipulative behavior of grooming, the officer earned the trust of the entire family and used his authority to take advantage of the child. His daughter’s story was featured in The Washington Post in June of 2024.
