9th Annual GDS Summit on Sexual Assault & Consent

Cohorts are mixed groups of educators, students, and community partners. Cohorts are moderated by GDS student organizers. If you are not already in a cohort, please add yourself to any open slot.

At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will have an understanding of:

The DC sexual assault medical forensic program
How survivors access the Crime Victims' Compensation program
The rights granted to survivors of sexual violence under the Sexual Assault Victims Rights Amendment Act

We often discuss the importance of consent but don't often talk about how those conversations actually advance in an affirmative, active and positive way. Molly Love will lead an interactive session where participants will discuss the importance and language of both giving and getting active consent. The conversation will continue as participants explore the intersection of consent and the continuum of physical intimacy. Participants will walk away with practical, realistic language for communicating with a partner.
