Empathy in Action: Responding to Disclosures of Abuse
Saturday November 23, 2024 2:00pm - 2:50pm EST
When someone discloses abuse, knowing how to respond can profoundly impact their healing journey. This workshop will equip you with essential skills to listen empathetically, validate their experiences, and honor their story without centering your own needs. If you've ever wondered whether your response was supportive, this session is for you. We’ll explore the principles of restorative justice, learning how to engage in conversations that acknowledge harm and foster healing. Together, we’ll discuss effective ways to respond to disclosures and offer meaningful support. Join us to become a compassionate ally in the healing process and help create a more empathetic community.
